My name is Kayli Krohn and I teach 5th grade at Monforton School. I grew up here in beautiful Bozeman, enjoying the scenery and culture of this town. When I am not in the classroom, I spend the majority of my time hiking, reading, baking, or spending time with my (very large!) family. I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Montana State University, Bozeman with an emphasis in Science Education, and my Master of Education degree from Western Governers University in 2020. I really look forward to getting to know you and your student this year! Together, I know that we can make fifth grade a wonderful experience for your child.
WELCOME TO THE 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR!

CLASSROOM ECONOMY
In 5th grade, your child will be participating in our Classroom Economy Project. This project will teach that hard work brings success, financial goal setting, how to keep an income and expense ledger, managing cash and writing checks, paying bills, controlling spending impulses, the value of property ownership, and how to save for bigger and better things. This is a program about financial choices and consequences.
At the beginning of the school year your child will be applying for a classroom job, including getting a letter of recommendation, that will give them a monthly paycheck. Each month they will have rent to pay for their seat, and a few other expenses in the form of supplies and fines. They will even get to pay taxes on both income and property.
