MENTORS FOR MONFORTON
The Mentors for Monforton program provides an environment of potential and development; enabling students to strengthen self-esteem, develop a clear sense-of-self, and enlarge their world; by building a relationship with a caring adult.

ABOUT OUR MENTORING PROGRAM
Monforton School, located near Four Corners, has a long list of students who would love to have a mentor for the school year. Studies show that mentored students express a more positive attitude toward school and are more engaged in activities. Mentoring a student is a great way to support an individual student and to contribute to the community.
If you’d like to be a mentor, the program has an application process that includes an application form, brief interview and a background check. We seek a commitment from mentors to participate for a school year, and the weekly meeting takes place over the student’s 45 minute recess/lunch break at the school. Mentors are offered a free school lunch and the matched pair eats together, then spends time playing a game, doing a craft or just talking.
If you are interested in the program or have questions, please contact program director Jessica Flack at jflack@monfortonschool.org or program coordinator Heidi Maus at hmaus@monfortonschool.org. If you know of someone who would make a great mentor, please help us spread the word.
