What is MTSS and why is it important? 

MTSS stands for Multi-Tiered System of Supports. It is a school-wide framework that provides a continuum of academic, behavioral, social, and emotional interventions and supports for all students. Through data-driven decision-making and universal screening, MTSS identifies students needing help and provides increasingly intensive, evidence-based supports through three tiers: Tier 1 offers high-quality core instruction to all students, Tier 2 provides small group, targeted interventions for at-risk students, and Tier 3 delivers intensive, individualized support for students with significant needs.
